Software developer (PHP)

LinkORB is a privately held Dutch software company that develops revolutionary new software
platform. Our solutions are designed to centralize the management of company data in order to
automate, manage, and monitor business processes. The platform is used to implement solutions for
ERP, lead generation and management, medical records, content management, and VOIP/ Telecom.
To support us for the market introduction of various LinkORB products in November 2008 we are
looking for creative software developers, versatile in PHP.

Job description

LinkORB develops a web based software platform based on a plug-in architecture. As part of the
software team, you take part in developing and expanding a suite of software products, based on our
web-based software platform.
Your first assignment would be to create a web-based version of an existing desktop medical solution.
Working in a team, you will contribute to the development of the product, using available functional
and technical designs as input.
This first project will help you to learn the ins and outs of our software architecture, in preparation for
new product development.

Job requirements

You have relevant experience in developing web-based software such as ERP, CRM, and/or Telecom applications.
You have in-depth knowledge and experience with the following technologies:

          - PHP, XHTML, AJAX, XML, XSLT, CSS, and JavaScript
          - Databases / SQL
          - Linux / Open-source software and related development tools.

You are organized and structured in your way of working. You follow an established schedule in our planning tool and deliver on commitments.
You are curious and creative, taking initiative to identify innovation and improvements and implementing the solutions.
You are a good communicator, able to interact with both colleagues and customers. You have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

What experience would make you stand out from the crowd?

Negotiation and requirement specification, in direct cooperation with end-customers.
Website layout and design, including the conversion of (image based) layouts to validatable XHTML/ CSS in a standard browsers.
Software architecture and design
Project planning and scheduling
Asterisk configurations
Other platforms / languages, such as C#, VB6.0, WPF/ XAML, Windows Mobile
